The Lady Elizabeth School Art Department aims to enrich conceptualisation and practical competences including the ability to think in linear and lateral ways.
Students are encouraged to develop critical analysis, problem solving, practical dexterity and imaginative powers. Ideas and skills are expanded upon to encourage students to think visually and to learn to look and not to take the observed world for granted.
These samples of students work demonstrate a wide variety of styles and techniques ranging over many different forms of expression and influences from still life, portraiture and landscape to a more contemporary style and experiments with composition.
The Department arranges student trips to galleries and museums - students have visited Valencia, Madrid and Birmingham.
Following A levels, a number of students move on each year to study Art or Design at further education level.
Here you will find examples of coursework and other art work up to GCSE and A level.
